Direct Support for Women and Girls

.Provide safe spaces, safe houses, and rescue centers for women and girls escaping FGM.

.Operate girls' clubs where participants learn about their rights, build confidence and self-esteem, and gain valuable life skills.

Community Engagement and Attitude Change

.Establish open dialogues with communities to discuss the damaging effects of FGM.

.Train community and religious leaders on how to speak out against FGM and influence others.

.Work with whole communities to change attitudes and behaviors towards the practice.

Grassroots Activism and Advocacy

.Partner with women's rights networks and feminist activists in affected communities.

Awareness Raising and Education

-Conduct campaigns to raise awareness about the severe physical, psychological, and social consequences of FGM.

-Educate communities on the human rights violations inherent in FGM and the laws that protect against it.

-work with youth groups and schools to teach about gender equality and girls' rights.

Partnerships and Funding

.Collaborate with UNFPA, UNICEF, and other major donors through the Donors Working Group on FGM.

.Support resource mobilization efforts and global advocacy to ensure local activists have sufficient funding and political support.

. Empowering survivors of FGM by providing financial assistance to organizations that offer holistic support, including medical treatments, counselling, and legal aid, while simultaneously promoting awareness of the harmful consequences of FGM.

As a survivor of female genital mutilation (FGM), I have faced immense physical and emotional challenges throughout my life. The trauma and pain I experienced left deep scars that seemed impossible to heal. I felt alone, ashamed, and disconnected from my own body. It was a daily struggle to find the strength to keep going. When I discovered Healing and Hope, I was hesitant to reach out, fearing that no one could truly understand my unique experiences. However, the moment I stepped into their office, I was greeted with compassion and understanding. The staff listened to my story without judgment and assured me that I was not alone in my journey. At the moment that felt like all I've ever needed my whole life.

I think one of the most transformative aspects of Healing and Hope's program was their focus on body positivity and self-acceptance. The workshops on self-care and body image helped me reframe my relationship with my body. I learned to appreciate its strength and resilience, rather than focusing on the scars of the past. The support of the community and the guidance of the staff empowered me to reclaim my body as my own.

A New Perspective on Life. As I progressed through the Healing and HOPE programs and came in contact with the specialist team, I began to see the world through a new lens. I realized that my experiences did not define me, but rather shaped me into a stronger, more resilient individual. Healing and Hope helped me find purpose in my pain and use my story to advocate for change and support others who have faced similar challenges.

Finding My Voice. Through Healing and HOPE specialized programs for FGM survivors, I began to unpack the layers of trauma that had been weighing me down. The counseling sessions provided a safe space for me to express my emotions freely and work through the pain. I learned to name my feelings and give them a voice, which was a crucial step in my healing process. I will forever be great full for there pure act of kindness.
